Description

An Erlenmeyer flask (also called a conical flask or titration flask) is a piece of laboratory glassware that features a flat bottom and conical chamber with a single neck at the top as an opening.

The slanted sides of the Erlenmeyer flask also the contents to be mixed by swirling the solution in side of it, with no risk of spillage.

The slanted sides and borosilicate glass also make these flasks suitable for boiling liquids on hot plates or with alcohol burners. Vapor can recondense on the upper section of the main chamber, reducing the amount of solvent lost.

These flasks are used in microbiology for the preparation of cultures as well as mixing and oxygenation. Given that they re borosilicate glass ovens, auto claves or sterilizers an be used to sterilize the flask after use.

Neck features a 24/29 ground glass joint making this ideal to connect to most of the glassware here at LabGeek, or for using a ground glass stopper for storage.
