A cork ring is a cylinder made from cork, with a hollow center and a conical cut allowing for spherical object to rest within it.

Being made of cork, it is fairly resistant to most organic solvents, is soft and wooden and and withstand temperatures up to 200°C. Its high temperature resistance also means it can be dried inside of an oven to ensure a long lifespan.

The soft nature of cork also prevents slippage, making them a critical piece of equipment when using round bottom flasks and other spherical glassware.
