Description

The round bottom flask is a widely used laboratory flask that fills a large number of purposes in the lab – from boiling to storage.

A round bottom flask has such uses as:

  • Heating of liquid
  • Distillation
  • Receiving flasks
  • Containment of chemical reactions
  • In rotary evaporators
  • Storage flasks

As these flasks have round bottoms, they require the support of cork rings to hold them when they are in use. Iron rings can also be used to support them on retort stands.

As these flasks have round bottoms, burners, double boilers or heating mantles are best suited to achieve a uniform heat.

All flasks come with a ground glass joint, 24/29 unless otherwise specified. This makes it easy to fit into the rest of our range, giving you peace of mind that all of our equipment is cross compatible.

A round bottom flask is also suitable to be put under vacuum due to their uniform shape.

Alongside a glass stopper, these are suitable to use as storage flasks for culture and chemicals.
