Description

The flat bottom flask is used in a wide variety of applications in the lab. They serve as a good alternative to a round bottom flask, but cannot replace them entirely.

The flat bottoms on these flasks allow them to be used directly on hot plates, where universally even heating is not a strict requirement, such as in some distillations. They can also be used as receiving flasks for distillate.

All flasks come with a ground glass joint, 24/29 unless otherwise specified. This makes it easy to fit into the rest of our range, giving you peace of mind that all of our equipment is cross compatible.

These flasks also suit magnetic stirring better than round bottom flasks due to their flat base, allowing a stirring pill to rest flat on the bottom.

A flat bottom flask isn’t recommended to be put under vacuum due to their non-uniform shape.

Alongside a glass stopper, these are suitable to use as storage flasks for culture and chemicals.
