A dimroth condenser (also called coiled reflux condenser) is a glass spiral-coiled tube in which water is intended to flow through, in order to condense vapor passing over it. Their uses include distillation, reflux and extraction.
Vapor from a distillation is run through the main chamber and recondensed by the cooling effect of running water through the double spiral water tube. This distillate flows through the chamber, out of the lower joint and into a receiving flask.
These increasingly require the support of retort stands at greater lengths.
These dimroth condensers have two ground glass joints (24/29)which are compatible with most of the glassware here at LabGeek, making for hassle free connections. When fitted, these glass joins provide a tight seal to prevent leakages.
Joint clips are highly recommended to keep these joints securely in place.
